The Playstation Network is removing the PSP fighter, Fate/unlimited codes on June 12th, after Capcom’s license expires on the title. As a reaction to that, the game is on sale at half price for $9.99. If you want a piece of “anime fighting game history”, then pick up this game before it disappears in two weeks.

Wow.

Just. Wow.

Move over ALTER’s Momohime. You have been dethroned (and rightfully so!) by Gift’s imperial Playable Saber—at least on my list of most enjoyed figures. Saber is so astonishingly detailed I don’t regret spending the extra bit of cash for a 1/8 size figure compared to other ones her size.

From ahoge-hairtip to iron boot toe, there’s literally not one ounce of wasted painted plastic. She bares striking similarity to the other another Saber of renown. Her hair is pleasantly neat and detailed and she even has her trademark extra-long ahoge. Her face is different from the official art, but I feel this works overall for this figure. I’ll get into this later.

Everything just screams “Look at me, and marvel at my beauty!” and I agree completely. Her velvety scarlet red dress is “flowy” and dramatically windswept while still adorned with militaristic garnishments, and she still prominently displays her large bust through it all. Her backside is very exposed and she’s not afraid to let people see!

The gold edges all over her clothes just increase her overall grandeur. They are meticulously detailed with intricate patterns and use different embroidery depending on where the gold trim is on the figure. I flipped out when I realized this.

Saber’s lower skirt is translucent white and she is certainly unabashed with letting people see what’s underneath; I had a blast taking different photos of this part. The translucent skirt is also gilded with detailed and embroidered patterns, and when it catches the light it looks dramatically different!

Her base has a mirrored surface on top and with the sun outside I was getting extra lighting just adding more to her complexity. I never had two of the same photograph. Of course from certain angles you can see right up her dress, and even her underwear has some embroidery on it.

This Saber is not quite exactly what the official art would dictate for Playable Saber, and honestly when I was ordering her I hesitated for this exact reason. I’m in love with the game Fate/Extra and when I first saw this figure I wasn’t too thrilled that despite how cool the figure looked overall the face didn’t match up. But after getting her, looking at her, having her in my hands and taking pictures of her, I am completely 100% A-OK with the creative liberties taken for this figure.

She is gorgeous, and just looking at her next to me makes me want to take her back out for some more photos! :]

Gift’s Saber Extra is an absolutely gorgeous figure and if you can get your hands on it I would highly recommend it She’s currently selling for 8480 Yen on AmiAmi and is worth every bit of it

Overall I’m not particularly pleased with this shoot; the sun was getting very strong and among other things I feel I didn’t do as good of a job with her. Sorry Cas-ko! You’re still a great figure! All around cute and I had a good laugh when I saw what kind of underwear you wear.

Earlier today we took a look at the opening for Persona 4 The Golden and tonight up pops a pre-order for a figure of Rise Kujikawa from Wave’s Beach Queen line of figures. The line is dedicated to producing cheap figures of popular characters in bathing suits and while they aren’t exactly the highest quality figures, they are a good choice for fans who want a decent figure of their favorite characters in bathing suits for a fair price.

Rise will run you 3100 Yen at Ami-Ami and should be released in late November.

Closing in on its Japanese release date, Persona 4: The Golden reveals its opening video. Like Persona 3: Portable, this game features a new video with a different song.

The game comes out June 14th on Japanese Vitas, and October 23rd on American Vitas.

Yesterday, NISA stuck up Pre-Order information for one of their newest acquired anime licenses from last year, Dororon Enma-kun Meeramera. They promptly took it down since it might have been revealed too early, but some quick shoppers took some screengrabs of this new limited edition. Now translated to Ghostly Prince Enma-Kun Burning Up, this $70 set features standard fare for NISA releases:

• Premium hardcover slipcase
• 2 Blu-ray, 2 DVD disc set
- Total of 12 episodes
- Approximately 25 mins/episode
- Features original Japanese voice acting
- English subtitles
• Bonus content: Clean openings and endings for each episode (except episode 3 ending)
• Premium box with bonus item: 36-page hardcover art book (approx. 11” x 7”) that explores the show’s outrageous world and characters, with detailed bios, illustrations, concept art, roundtable discussions with cast and crew, and an all-new interview with the original author, Go Nagai himself!

The page originally stated the release date to be on September 11th, 2012. The staff at NISA were probably waiting to officially reveal this at a press event or convention, so until then, interested parties will have to patiently postpone their pre-orders of the package until a proper presentation of the product and its profligate pickle presents itself, posthaste.

Akin to other games like Two Worlds II, Mortal Kombat, and Batman: Arkham City, Techland’s Dead Island is getting a cheap GOTY edition with the all of the DLC bundled for free. This release hits the PC, 360, and PS3 on June 26th (July 6th in Europe) for $30.

HOWEVER, right now for a limited time, Steam users can get the base game at 60% off for a meager $11.99 and the DLC for only a few bucks more.

So if you were planning on buying this game on PC sometime soon, I highly recommend picking it all up (or just the base game) for less than $20 rather than wait a month to get it at $30.

Although I personally had lots of fun with the title, the biggest question out of this news is: Who the heck chose Dead Island as “Game of the Year?”

The Figma T-ELOS just got a small little preview from the figma blog and it looks absolutely fantastic. I do believe it has become something I must order to go with my KOS-MOS. She’s going to retail at 4000 Yen and barring any delays will be released in September. I know this is one I’m not going to be passing up.

If you weren’t at Ground Kontrol last night, then you missed out on another amazing trivia night hosted by Portland badasses, OTL Gaming and Pwnlove. This week’s event shoved trivia from two gaming studios, Naughty Dog and Rockstar, down our collective game throats. This was a no-holds-barred, throw-down, ultimate smash battle of justice. Some amazing questions were asked and some wonderful prizes were handed out, courtesy of BitMap’d and Naughty Dog.

I’m happy to say that members of the Bowtie Cat crew took 2nd, 3rd and 4th places, which pretty much makes us the best people ever.
