We may still have to wait a while for Bioware’s release of the Mass Effect 3: Extended Cut, but don’t worry, my bowtie kitties. Your old uncle Analoge has made the definitive version of the Mass Effect 3 ending, which you can enjoy above.
Be warned that there are minor [SPOILERS] for both Mass Effects 2 and 3, but if you can deal with that you’re in for a real treat. Enjoy.

Bioware has announced the Mass Effect 3: Extended Cut today. They’re going to give you the rainbow and smiles ending you all want… for free. That’s right, the DLC that changes the ending of the game is being given away for free on all systems. Congratulations. You did it.
Let’s all just hope the new ending pleases EVERYONE, and god help Bioware if it doesn’t.
[Update: I am aware of the wording Bioware and EA’s PR people are using to explain their company’s decision to change the ending of their game. I am not, however, compelled to buy into it. The addition of an epilogue that clarifies the ending of a game changes the way players of the epilogue who have finished the game and new players of the game perceive that ending. It is unsurprising that they have worded it this way, because it allows them to deny the truth of the matter: that the ending that originally appears in the game was deemed a failure.]
For the eve of April Fools Day, Adult Swim put Toonami back on the air for a few hours. This included full bumpers and voice acting by Steve Blum. Other cool inclusions were ads for the many mainstream series and even a review of Mass Effect 3.
Part 2 of the bumps can be seen here.
Has the Mass Effect 3 ending (and fans’ ridiculous reaction to it) left you hollow inside? Here’s a little something to give you hope that video games can be fun again: Young Horses are making a sequel to Octodad!
If you haven’t played the first Octodad, you’re in for a treat. It’s free and you can download it here. If you’re the type of person who needs more motivation than that to download a free game, you play as an octopus who dreamed of being an person, so he stuffed his tentacles into the arms and legs of a business suit, got a wife and some kids, and now you play as that octopus attempting to keep up the ruse.
tl;dr Loving father, caring husband, secret octopus.
Oh, and the sequel is called Octodad: Dadliest Catch. I shouldn’t have to tell you that this is the best name ever, but I will. This is the best name ever.
Amazon is reportedly accepting full refunds to buyers of Mass Effect 3 that were unsatisfied with their product (for whatever reason that may be). This deal also extends to the Special Edition in which a Bioware forum user has received up to $87.95. Other members in the above link have written success stories with Amazon’s Customer Service as well.
The game currently has a user rating of 2 out of 5 stars on Amazon and, depending on the console, a user rating of 3.4-4.9 on Metacritic. This community score is polarized from the high 90s+ it has received from official publications.
